Shore, A.E. Randel and <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">B.G. Chung (2011), which highlights the positive impact of a sense of belonging on inclusion, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">we took another step forward by adding Belonging as the fourth pillar of our <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The inclusion of the Belongingness dimension in the AMS DEIB strategy underscores the key role of ERGs in the  <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">Building an environment where everyone feels like an integral part of the company. By reinforcing the activities of   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">and visibility of the ERGs, we want to deepen the sense of community within the Groups and throughout the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2 fusion-text-no-margin\" style=\"--awb-text-transform:none;--awb-margin-top:0px;--awb-margin-right:0px;--awb-margin-bottom:0px;--awb-margin-left:0px;\"><p>The AMS DEIB team, together with the ERGs, gathered feedback from the organizations and based on that, streamlined <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">the structure of the DEIB calendar and activities.We analyzed the frequencies of the ERGs&#8217; global activities and <\/span> <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">We came to the conclusion that in a world, overloaded with information, less is more. Therefore,   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">We have divided the ERGs&#8217; global activities into thematic blocks throughout the year, with a focus on quality and  <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">not the number of initiatives. Longer thematic blocks allow you to engage more deeply with a topic and   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">increase the chances that everyone will find time to participate in at least one initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This approach has also created new opportunities for ERGs: they can invest time and energy  <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">into outreach activities. We organized sessions with guests from outside our organization and   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">We have established cooperation with external partners. This has attracted a much larger   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When we asked the male and female leaders of our Groups what makes our activities unique,  <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">one issue came up most often: the strong commitment of the entire organization to DEIB. AT AMS   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">DEIB is not a side topic &#8211; it is an integral part of our culture. Ideas and events   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">are born both in the ERGs&#8217; communities and among AMS leaders and women leaders. ERGs are a source of   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">energy and new directions, which then gain support throughout the organization &#8211; locally and  <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">globally. This approach encourages everyone to act in areas that are of interest to them   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">really important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Workers&#8217; Group leaders also highlighted creative approaches to  <span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">promoting DEIB topics. Increasingly, both locally and globally, ERGs are organizing   <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">Interactive initiatives, such as events or contests, that naturally attract <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">attention and give those who participate the satisfaction of making a real contribution to DEIB&#8217;s activities and supporting <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\" style=\"--awb-content-alignment:left;--awb-font-size:var(--awb-typography4-font-size);--awb-line-height:var(--awb-typography4-line-height);--awb-letter-spacing:var(--awb-typography4-letter-spacing);--awb-text-transform:var(--awb-typography4-text-transform);--awb-text-font-family:&quot;Poppins&quot;;--awb-text-font-style:normal;--awb-text-font-weight:700;\"><p>AMS&#8217;s DEIB journey is still ongoing, and our commitment remains unchanged. <g id=\"gid_0\">We are <\/g> constantly <g id=\"gid_0\">looking for new ways to engage and support everyone in DEIB activities. <\/g><g id=\"gid_1\">One example is the launch this year of a new group, Religion, Faith <\/g><g id=\"gid_2\">and Spirituality, which was created in response to changing needs.<\/g> <\/p>\n<p>The world is constantly changing &#8211; and with it, so are we. One thing remains constant: our <g id=\"gid_0\">belief that DEIB is critical to the development and growth of our organization.<\/g> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); font-weight: var(--awb-text-font-weight); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-reading-box-container reading-box-container-1\" style=\"--awb-title-color:var(--awb-color8);--awb-margin-top:0px;--awb-margin-bottom:20px;\"><div class=\"reading-box\" style=\"background-color:var(--awb-color2);border-width:1px;border-color:rgba(226,226,226,0);border-left-width:3px;border-left-color:var(--primary_color);border-style:solid;\"><h2>Expert commentary<br><\/h2><div class=\"reading-box-description fusion-reading-box-additional\"><i>Monika Lis \u2013 Expert, Diversity Hub<\/i><\/div><div class=\"reading-box-additional\">\n<p><b><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>The Deloitte 3C Model \u2014 Connection, Contribution and Comfort <\/b>\u2014 perfectly reflects what happens in mature, authentic Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These are spaces where people truly connect on the level of experiences, values and shared goals. ERGs become places where individuals meet others who understand them, listen and offer support. This is where trust is built and where genuine relationships form\u2014something often missing in the fast pace of everyday work.   <\/p>\n<p>When<b> Contribution<\/b> emerges \u2014 the ability to make a real impact and influence \u2014 ERGs gain strength. Members begin to initiate activities, share ideas and create solutions that inspire others. Many of the ideas that later shape organizational culture, processes or communication are born within ERGs.  <\/p>\n<p>The third element \u2014 <b>Comfort <\/b>\u2014 is equally crucial. It represents psychological safety: the feeling that people can speak openly, honestly and without fear of judgment. In such an environment, genuine collaboration and innovation can flourish. <\/p>\n<p>When all three elements \u2014<b> Connection, Contribution and Comfort <\/b>\u2014 appear <b>authentically and develop bottom-up<\/b>, something essential happens: a true sense of <b>belonging <\/b>emerges. And once belonging is present, everything else \u2014 engagement, innovation and loyalty \u2014 becomes a natural outcome. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_4 1_4 fusion-flex-column\"
